The Truckee River represents Lake Tahoe’s only water outlet, compared to the 63 tributaries that drain into the lake. If your not up for the effort involved in dropping in your own raft and gear, you may want to opt for a guided tour/rent a raft from companies like Truckee River Raft Company, Truckee River Rafting or Tributary White Water Tours.
Meyers is about as close as you can get to being within minutes from two of Tahoe’s best ski resorts, Sierra at Tahoe(20-25 minutes) and Kirkwood (35-40 minutes). If you prefer to ski Heavenly Valley, it too is a short drive away (10-15 minutes).
It’s no wonder Meyers has always been a favorite area among locals and is becoming increasingly popular among second home owners.
