BIKING

Whether you are a mountain or road biker, Meyers is also a great gateway to some of the area’s best trails and hill climbs. Every summer people come from all very to experience top mountain bike trails like Mr.Toad’s Wild Ride, Corral Loop and the annual, always sold out, 129 mile, 15,000′ of climbing, 5 pass Tour of the California Alps - Death Ride road bike race.

RAFTING

If you prefer the water, about a mile down the road near Elk’s Club Drive is one of the more popular spots to drop your raft in on the Truckee River for a day float.  The Truckee River represents Lake Tahoe’s only water outlet, compared to the 63 tributaries that drain into the lake.

If your not up for the effort involved in dropping in your own raft and gear, you may want to opt for a guided tour/rent a raft from a companies like  Truckee River Raft Company, Truckee River Rafting or Tributary White Water Tours.

SKIING

Meyers is about as close as you can get to being within minutes from two of Tahoe’s best ski resorts, Sierra at Tahoe (20-25 minutes) and Kirkwood (35-40 minutes). If you prefer to ski Heavenly Valley, it too is a short drive away (10-15 minutes).

It’s no wonder Meyers has always been a favorite area among locals and is becoming increasingly popular among second home owners. For many years it was thought that if you lived in Meyers that you had a home in the “Boonies”… Quite the contrary, if you live in Meyers, you have many conveniences that others do not.
